The mission of Little Treasures Preschool is to provide outstanding

school readiness to the preschoolers in our community.

We believe that:   * Preschool is all about learning to love learning!
                               * Children learn best in a learning-rich environment with educated teachers
                               * All children are precious and have unique talents and abilities
                               * Both social and academic development are critical to a child’s success in school

Our Students

Little Treasures preschool program is primarily for Pre-K children who have turned 4-years-old prior to July 1 of the application year.  We also accept 3-years-old (by 7/1) who have more qualifying factors.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is based on the Colorado Academic Standards. We focus on outstanding Kindergarten readiness. Our staff are trained in the Pyramid Model supporting social emotional competence in young children.

Our Program

We are a provider of Colorado Universal Preschool (UPK). We contract with NCSD to offer 3-year-old UPK.  With support from SLV BOCES and NCSD, we offer Early Childhood Special Education services (including speech, physical and occupational therapies).

Cost

Our school is primarily funded by Colorado Universal Preschool Program (UPK).  Many Pre-K students and some 3-yr-olds can attend our program AT NO COST! Child care costs outside of preschool hours are detailed here.

Our Classes

We have two 3-year-old classes with a maximum of twelve children in each class and three Pre-K classes with a maximum of sixteen students. All of our classes are staffed with a teacher and teacher assistant, and all three of our Pre-K teachers are elementary-certified.

Food Program

We serve snacks daily. Parents are asked to provide a nutritious lunch for their child if he or she stays for child care (candy is discouraged). We provide milk for lunch.

School Year

Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from late August to early May. We follow the NCSD calendar and are closed when the elementaries are closed. We are open for child care through the last day of school in the district.
