I began at Little Treasures in the fall of 2002, assuming I was on a detour from teaching at the elementary level.  I soon found myself hooked by the joys of early childhood education and became Director at Little Treasures in 2005.  I am grateful to work with an amazing and dedicated staff, wonderful families, a great community, and many precious little ones.  I love my work, my family (I’m Granna to three wonderful, brilliant, adorable grandchildren), learning, reading, time in the mountains, and family history.

I moved to the Valley in 2003, but I will forever be a city girl.  My precious husband and I have two children, two horses, one dog (as big as a horse), and two cats.  I have been in the "Administrative Assistant" world for over twenty years and love it.  My specialty here at Little Treasures is nachos, but I also make a mean cinnamon toast.  I love traveling, shopping, candy-crushing-it, and hanging out with my kids.

I have been teaching at Little Treasures for over ten years and find that walking with children through their first educational experience at preschool is very rewarding.  The power of curiosity and imagination is amazing to witness every day!  I enjoy crafts, sewing, photography and my family.  Six children and twenty grandchildren have made my life happy and complete.  I often wear the title “Grandma” at preschool too, which gives me added pleasure.  Working with these wonderful little people is keeping me young.

I have always loved working with young children, so I graduated from Adams State College with an elementary education degree. I taught kindergarten for three years and then took time off to stay home with a new baby. I was hired at Little Treasures in 2010 and have loved getting to know all the sweet kiddos. When I'm not at school, I enjoy time with my husband and six kids.

One of my greatest joys in life is to be able to work with little children.  It is a privilege each year to watch these little ones grow so much.  After beginning my education degree at Adams State, I took a leave of absence for thirteen years to begin my own family.  I completed my BA in Elementary Ed from WGU and went straight to work at Little Treasures in 2011.  I love a good book.  I like listening to music (especially with my kids).  I enjoy cooking; warm, sunny days; and above all, being a mom to five wonderful kids.

I was born and raised in southeast Georgia, but have lived in Colorado for many years now. I  love the beauty of the mountains, but I really miss the beach.  After graduating from Adams State in 2002, I worked as a para-professional at Manassa Elementary. Over the next few years, I became Mom to three wonderful children and did some substitute teaching.  I started at Little Treasures in August 2012. I enjoy the opportunity that I have to teach these precious children. They are full of excitement, wonder, and joy!  I also love to read, do digital scrapbooking, and attend the local Zumba class.

I chose to attend Trinidad State Junior College in the field of Early Childhood Education because I enjoy working with children. I graduated in 2000. Unbelievably, I have worked at Little Treasures for more than fifteen years and still enjoy coming to work every day.  I come to preschool to play, not work.  I am a Mom to three adult children, and Grandma to seven wonderful grandchildren. When not at work, I spend a lot of time with my Dad and family. I enjoy fishing, and going to the mountains and casinos.

I’ve had a love of teaching for quite some time.  It began when I worked in my home town’s library, doing reading time and story activities for Headstart classes.  That's when I decided I wanted to go to college to get my teaching degree.  After graduating from Adams State, I moved to Denver where I was employed at a private  school working with Pre-Kindergarteners.  In 2008, I began working at Little Treasures Preschool and I love it!   The children are so sweet and fun to be around, their families are so wonderful and welcoming, and my co-workers are amazing people.  I love being at Little Treasures and hope to be here for many years to come.

I was born and raised in the Valley and don’t want to ever leave – I love it here. My husband and I have eight children and four grandchildren. I’m also close to my siblings and many nieces and nephews. I have always loved working with children, so Little Treasures has been a perfect fit. I enjoy seeing our students satisfaction when they conquer a difficult task, and I enjoy seeing them progress throughout the year.  I love doing projects, fixing things, yard work, and anything that is a challenge.

I am a graduate of Adams State and have always worked in education.  I have worked with youth and children throughout my career, teaching and coaching volleyball and basketball.  I gain a lot of satisfaction seeing my students and teams improve and learn.  I have been at Little Treasures since 2013 and love my work here.  I am always sad to see a class move on, but love getting to know a new group.  I also love the work environment and my wonderful co-workers at Little Treasures.  I enjoy fishing, camping, and spending time with my husband, son, and family.

I knew when the first of my three sons attended Little Treasures, that “when I  grew up,” I wanted to work there, and I was hired in 2013.  The work has been so rewarding!  I love looking back at the end of the year and seeing the hurdles our students have cleared.  I love the look a child gets when they “get it.” And I love that our students are brutally honest!  I am a Mom to three amazing boys and I enjoy watching my kids play football and soccer.  I love my horse, organizing, cleaning, moving cows with my husband, reading, and my chickens… (yes, I love my chickens, I was shocked too!).  I am grateful for the positive impact that Little Treasures has had on my three sons and hope to make a difference in the lives of many others through my work here.
